May

  • Now that it’s May we are applying Screamin’ Green, a slow release granular fertilizer, to keep your fescue green and healthy in the coming warm weather. We are also treating any summer weeds that have popped up since our last visit.
  • Screamin’ Green Organic Granular Fertilizer
  • Personal Turf Inspection
  • Post-Emergent Weed Control if needed
  • Screamin’ Green:
  • Provides Organic Nutrients for healthier plants
  • Provides Organic Matter (OM) for healthier soil
  • Contains organic matter absent in most organic fertilizers
  • Is rich in soil-life stimulating compounds that aid in nutrition and disease suppression
  • Has five nitrogen sources that blend beautifully together
  • Adds energy to soils for superior nutrient uptake
  • Contains substances that build stronger cell walls
  • Aids in drought resistance
  • Preserves America’s waterways

June

  • Personal Turf Inspection
  • Hydretain Moisture Manager @ 6 oz per gallon
  • Because of the recent hot and wet weather, we are applying Humates and Compost Tea this round. Humates and Compost Tea help Fescue deal with drought by increasing soil friability and encouraging deep root growth.
  • Terra Vita Humate SP-90 @ 4 oz per 1000 sf
  • Chelated Iron
  • Micronutrients

July

  • Because of the extended hot and dry weather, we did not treat any fescue lawns in July this year.

August

No Treatments

  • Treatments made to fescue in August will only damage your lawn, therefore we do not treat lawns in August.

September

Optional but Highly Recommended

  • Core Aerate
  • Overseed with John Deere / Lesco Supreme Transition Zone Turf Type Tall Fescue blend in sunny areas.
  • Overseed with John Deere / Lesco Supreme Shady Fescue blend – Creeping Red Fescue, Chewings Fescue, Hard Fescue, and Kentucky Bluegrass – in shady areas.
  • Apply 18-24-12 Starter Fertilizer
  • Treat for Weeds

October

Crash

  • Unfortunately this October Jon was rear-ended by a distracted driver who hit him at 50 mph without even touching the brakes. The company truck was totaled.
  • Jon’s doctor diagnosed bleeding on the brain and a broken neck; luckily, however, a CT scan was negative for that diagnosis. There is ongoing aggravation of arthritis of the neck and a “massive” back sprain, as well as an unshakable headache.
  • For these reasons we did not treat any of our Fescue lawns this month. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we will be back on our regular schedule in November.
  • Thank you for your business.

november

winterizing

  • Personal Inspection of Turf
  • Granular Winterizer
  • Post-Emergent Weed Control
  • This round we are winterizing your lawn – we are giving your turf plants the fertilizer they need to store up nutrients in their roots. These stored nutrients are the key to their survival over the winter, and are also key to their quick and strong green-up next spring.

December

Lime

  • This is a great time of year to apply lime, because it typically takes a few months for the lime to work itself into the root zone. The winter freeze-thaw cycle helps this process.

2017 Pricing

Each monthly treatment is billed at $45 for the first 3000 square feet of actual turf and $10 for each additional 1000 square feet of turf.

Optional Additional Services are billed on a lawn by lawn basis. We usually run a Fall Sale for Aeration and Overseeding services.

We use GIS or personal inspection to measure your lawn. Simply send an email and we can have a quote to you the same day. If necessary we will come out and give you our professional recommendations at your convenience.
